Why the Hammar 130 Sideloader?

The Hammar 130 has been designed as a mid-range 3-crane solution, to facilitate individual handling of two 20’ containers. In a 3-crane solution, the middle crane can stow itself to position where it is the same height as the chassis itself, allowing you to handle 40’ containers. The standard support legs are extendable and tilting, making their positioning very versatile. The optional underslung leg can be installed on the middle and/or back cranes. The underslung leg is positioned very low meaning you can easily place it under many companion chassis or rail wagons when transferring. With its versatile support leg options, it’s a mid-range all-round Sideloader, able to handle almost any situation with ease. The Hammar 130 is the best choice when looking for a mid-range 3 crane solution, or a versatile mid-range 2 crane solution.

Hammar 130 Sideloader Lifting Groundlevel

Lifting from/to ground level

The Hammar 130 Sideloader lifts containers to/from the ground with maximum safety and ease. A full handling cycle takes 3-4 minutes. The versatile positioning of the support leg gives more options for handling containers where space is limited.

Hammar 130 Sideloader Transfer

Transfer from/to another chassis

The Hammar 130 can transfer to/from another chassis, including rail wagons. The versatile support legs can be placed behind/in front of the companion chassis, or on top or below it. The optional underslung legs are also excellent for transferring in many situations.

Sideloader 3 Crane Solution

3-crane solution

The Hammar 130 is designed to allow more efficient handling of individual 20’ containers to/from the 40’ chassis. The low height middle crane means you can also handle 40’ containers.

Hammar 130 Underslung Collapsible

Collapsible crane/Underslung leg

The collapsible crane with its underslung has three main advantages. 1) mounted in the middle of a 3-crane solution you can handle 40’ containers. 2) mounted at the back you can open the container doors without unloading the container. 3) The underslung leg’s low working height makes transfers more easy.

Hammar 130 chassis options

When buying a Hammar Sideloader you always get a high quality Hammar designed chassis, optimized and made for Sideloader operations. We have a number of models to fulfil our customers’ requirements, which are then adapted to suit local regulations and the customer’s needs.

Fixed Chassis, Sliding Cranes - 130 S

The S-chassis is a fixed length, and has sliding cranes meaning it can handle multiple container sizes. It has a straight forward design and the lowest tare weight of all Hammar chassis. It is the most common model used world-wide. Also available with fixed cranes for single size containers upon request.

Fixed Sliding (S) Animation

Telescopic chassis, Combination - 130 C

The most common telescopic chassis is the C-chassis (Combination). It combines sliding cranes with a telescopic chassis, and has a low tare weight. The sliding cranes enable optimized weight distribution of your load. A telescopic chassis is a requirement in some countries for transporting 45' or longer containers on the road.

Telescopic Combination (C) Animation

Telescopic chassis, Advanced - 130 A

The A-chassis (Advanced) is a unique chassis from Hammar and, as the name suggests, the most advanced. It is made of three moving chassis parts and has sliding cranes. This makes it possible to optimise the weight distribution for both 2 and 3-axle trucks, as well as for different container sizes. It is also possible to make it shorter than a C-chassis in its shortest position (20’).

Telescopic Advanced (A) Animation

Telescopic chassis, Trombone - 130 T

The T-chassis (Trombone) is the simplest telescopic chassis. The chassis extends and retracts between 20’-40’ modes and has fixed cranes. The T-chassis can be built to the shortest length, providing a high level of manoeuvrability when transporting 20’ containers.

Telescopic Trombone T-animation

Truck mounted, 130 B

The Hammar 130 can be mounted directly on a truck chassis. This provides the Sideloader with unbeatable manoeuvrability where 20’ container handling is required.

Chassis adaptions

Sideloader Axle Configuration

Axle configurations

We offer different axle configurations to your Hammar chassis; different numbers of axles, optimized weight distribution and more. All conforming to local regulations and your needs.

Hammar Gooseneck Adaption

Gooseneck chassis

Our trailer chassis models can be built as a gooseneck chassis. A gooseneck chassis is designed to transport 40'+ High Cube containers in countries with low overall height restrictions. Max 33 tonnes lifting capacity.

Road Train Options

Road train options

A Hammar trailer chassis can be built as a low bed chassis, giving a significantly lower overall height when loaded. Excellent for extra high loads or other situations that restrict the height of the vehicle.

Hammar Dropdeck

Drop deck chassis

A Hammar trailer chassis can be built as a drop deck chassis, giving a significantly lower load bed. Excellent for extra high loads or other situations restricting the height of the vehicle.
