Hammar lifts help repairing the Golden Gate Bridge
Two HAMMAR 151 HC units are used on the Golden Gate Bridge to replace the bridge deck. Work is performed during night time, to minimize impact on the daily traffic of about 100,000 vehicles. The project faces unique challenges, in the form of access and weight restraints, and this is where the HAMMAR lift comes handy. Handling of oversized and heavy concrete slabs in a narrow place can be tricky. Only the great strength, and ability to reach, combined with the low axle pressure of a HAMMAR 151 HC, make it possible to perform this kind of job.
