Hammar self-loading trailers, also known as Sideloaders or Sidelifters, are used all over the world and have been sold in 121 different countries worldwide. With a Hammar, you can save time and costs, while offering your customers a new, flexible and improved service. Here you will find the general application areas of how Sideloaders are used on the market, often in combination with each other.
Container haulage
Safe, leveled 2+2-point lifting and transport of containers. Allows customers to load/unload their container efficiently, safely and at their own pace without the use of a loading dock or 3rd party lifting equipment. While the container is being handled, the Sideloader can move on to the next mission.
Project & special logistics
A cost-efficient solution to lifting and transporting heavy containers and other cargo for events, relocation, construction projects and more. A Sideloader can replace a considerably more expensive and slower crane, offering a more competetive service.
Container terminal/yard equipment
Sideloaders can handle containers from/to another chassis or train wagons and stack 2 containers high. They're used as a more economical alternative to dedicated lifting equipment or as a backup for existing equipment.
Emergency deliveries
With lifting & transport capabilities in a single vehicle, you can get past many logistical bottlenecks with a Hammar. There is no need to wait for 3rd party lifting equipment or a loading dock to be free to finish the mission.
Lifting from/to ground level
A Hammar Sideloader can load/unload a shipping container or other cargo directly from/to the ground. Once the goods are on the ground the Sideloader can continue to the next job, and the container can be packed/unpacked in a safe and efficient manner.
Transfer from/to another trailer or rail wagon
A Hammar Sideloader can transfer a container from/to a trailer, truck or rail wagon. This means it can serve as a mobile lifting device or as part of a convoy, loading/unloading other trailers or wagons. This also means the Sideloader can serve as an intermodal tool.
Road transport
A Sideloader allows to safely lift a container and transport it by road in accordance with all regulations. No other equipment has the ability to both transport and lift with the same cost-efficiency and performance as a Hammar Sideloader.
Stacking containers
A Sideloader can be equipped with a stacking function, which allows you to put a container on top of another placed on the ground. By double-stacking the customer can save valuable space. Containers stacked on top of each other also enable higher cargo security.
